1. Overview

Progressive academic atmosphere, great teaching quality and standardized management had resulted in a constant graduation rate of 100 percent among international students. Except for the graduates in 2010, whose degree-conferring rate was 98.7%, the degree-conferring rate remained at 100%. Most graduates participated in USMLE or medical licensing examinations in their home countries. After passing the examinations, they choose to work in hospitals or seek further education.

According to an incomplete statistics, among all graduates from 2010 to 2014, 61 chose to continue their education after getting their MBBS degree form NMU. Among them, 19 were studying in the U.S.A. and U.K., while 3 had obtained a master’s degree from NMU and 17 were still studying in NMU.

Five outstanding graduates, Ashish Subedi, Ranga Prasanth Thiruven Kataramani and Muhammed Zohaib Ghatala of the Batch 2004, Abhigyan Banka, Xue Fei Fei of the Batch of 2005, had passed USMLE and completed their internships and were serving as resident doctors in the U.S.A.

2. Outstanding Alumnus

Jyoti Dhakal, who is from Nepal and graduated in 2007 with a master’s degree, is working as an Assistant Professor at Kantipur General and Dental College Hospital, Basundhara, Kathmandu, Nepal and he is also working as a consultant orthodontist at Vayodha Hospital and Alka Hospital.

Ashish Subedi, who is from Nepal and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor degree, works as a resident physician at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital which is affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

Muhammed Zohaib Ghatala, who is from India and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor degree,worked as a medical officer in Chennai, India and an epilepsy researcher at Case Western University, Cleveland, USA in the past. Now he is working as a resident physician at ISOM Mount Sinai/QHC, New York, USA.

Sumit Kumar, who is from India and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor degree, is working in the Pediatrics Department of the prestigious Institute of Child Health, Kolkata, East India.

Ranga Prasanth Thiruven Kataramani, who is from India and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor degree, is doing his pediatrics residency in USA and residing in New York.

Manohar Ramesh Babu, who is from India and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor degree, is currently working as a Senior Clinical and Research Fellow in Urology and General Surgery at Frimley Health NHS Trust (Wexham Park Hospital) in London , UK.

Narveet Kaur, who is from India and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor degree, is applying for a job in Australia as a doctor at the moment and she will soon be granted Observership position in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth.

Periyakaruppan Muthiah, who is from India and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor degree, passed India postgraduate entrance examination and studied in an MD program in Pediatrics in RIMS (Regional Institute of Medical Sciences), Imphal, Manipur, India from May 2012 to May 2015. Presently he has just graduated with an MD degree in Pediatrics and is planning to study further and work in the field of child care.

Rajiv Shrestha, who is from Nepal and graduated in 2013 with a master’s degree, is working in the Department of Cardiology, Norvic International Hospital.
