Haji Mwita Haji, a native of Tanzania, studied clinical medicine from 1975 to 1977 and again from 1981 to 1983, the predecessors of our university, Jiangsu New Medical College and Nanjing Medical College. After that, he went to the United Kingdom for further study and obtained a master's degree. He has served as President of Natsmoga Hospital in Zanzibar, Principal of the Zanzibar College of Health Sciences, Vice-Chairman of the Council of the University of Dar es Salaam, and member of the Tanzania Higher Education Committee. On September 29, 2010, Mr. Haji was invited to attend the celebration of the 60th anniversary of studying in China held by the Ministry of Education in Beijing, and returned to the school in 2010 and 2024, where he was cordially met by the school leaders.

 

Maua Daftari, a native of Tanzania, studied clinical medicine at Jiangsu New Medical College (now Nanjing Medical University) from 1975 to 1977. She has successively served in several ministries of the United Republic of Tanzania, including the Ministry of Communications and Transport, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, and the Ministry of Science, Technology and ICT Development, where she contributed to a range of infrastructure and industrial development initiatives. In 2017, she was appointed as an advisor to the President of Zanzibar and actively participated in the development of regional strategies.

 

Krishna Gopal Bhuju, a Nepalese, graduated with a master's degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2007. Dr. Krishna is a retired Colonel and associate professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He worked at the Nepalese Army Hospital, where he was the only specialist in this field.

 

Prawahar Chiluveru, an Indian, graduated with a bachelor's degree from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2012. He has successively studied and worked at the Nova ENT Head & Neck Superspeciality Hospital, Navodaya Hospital, Shalini Hospital and Breach Candy Hospital in India. Since 2022he established his own clinic, the Scope ENT Head & Neck, Skull Base Center, in the heart of Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, India.

 

Bele Sumedh, from Canada, graduated from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2014 with a master's degree in Public Health. Currently, he is a Banting Research Fellow at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer for the online Precision Health Program offered by the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary in Canada. He serves as the Review Editor for Frontiers in Pediatrics and Frontiers in Public Health Journals. He also regularly peer reviews for academic journals and academic conferences.

 

 

Rajiv Shrestha, Nepalese, graduated with a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Medicine from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2019. He completed all three degrees — bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate — at NMU. During master’s and doctoral studies, He was supervised by Professor Shao Liang Chen. Currently, he is working as Deputy Director in Cardiology Department of Norvic International Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal.

 

Muhammad Sohail, a Pakistani, graduated with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Analysis from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2019. Currently, he serves as an associate professor and master's supervisor at the School of Food Science and Pharmaceutical Engineering, Nanjing Normal University.

 

Muhammad Haidar Zaman, a Pakistani, graduated with a Ph.D. in Immunology from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2019. Currently, he works in the Biology Department of the International Division of the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University and serves as an associate professor in the Department of Health and Biological Sciences at Abasyn University in Pakistan.

 

Hafiz Muhammad Zubair, a Pakistani, graduated with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2019. Currently, he serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in Pakistan.

Ivana Chandra, an Indonesian, graduated with a Ph.D. in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2020. Since 2021, she has been working in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center. Upon completing her standardized residency training in 2024, she began focusing on high-risk obstetrics, mainly engaged in the management of high-risk pregnancies and the diagnosis and treatment of obstetric emergencies.

 

Ashfaq Ahmad Shah Bukhari, a Pakistani, graduated with a Ph.D. in Pathology and Pathophysiology from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2020. Currently, he serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Physiology at Ras Al Khaimah Medical College, United Arab Emirates.

 

Muhammad Amin Karim, from Pakistan, graduated with a doctorate in Human Anatomy and Histoembryology from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2021. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Anatomy at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. His role focuses on teaching courses in Western clinical subjects and coordinating with Xin Hua Hospital in the Departments of Urology and Medical Imaging.

 

Piplu Bhuiyan, Bangladeshi, graduated with a master's degree in Anesthesiology from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2022. His research focused on immune cell-mediated neuroinflammation in postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD), specifically involving mast cells (MCs). During his Master's degree at NMU, he published six scientific articles. After graduation, he was a visiting research scholar in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN). He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Neurodegenerative Disease Research Center at Arizona State University.

 

Akram Mohammed Ali Al-nasri, a Yemeni, graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Medicine in Stomatology from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2022. After graduation, he remained in China to work and served as the foreign Director of Jiahuai Dental Hospital in Hefei.

 

Lolita, an Indonesian, graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacy from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) in 2022. She is currently serving as an associate professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
