Short-term Chinese Language Training Admission Information

Description

This Chinese Language Training Program, designed for overseas students, is delivered by experienced teachers, focusing on Chinese Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Students will be placed into classes of different levels of beginner, elementary, intermediate and advanced according to their Chinese proficiency, with small-size class. Class must have at least 8 students, and will not start before 8 students register. If the number of students is less than 8, they may join a course already in progress.

Length of Study

Winter program, Feb.1st――Feb.28th,120 hours;Spring program, May.19th――July.20th, 260 hours;Summer program,July.10th――Aug.28th , 210 hours.

Or customized course, 2-12 weeks long, depending on your preference.

Chinese Modules

Intensive Chinese, Chinese Listening, Chinese Speaking, Chinese Reading, Chinese Writing, Chinese Culture, Tai Ji.

Cultural Activities

Visits to historical sites in and around Nanjing

Language Practices

Communication with Chinese students, Chinese recitation & speech contest, teaching observation and practice, etc.

Application Date

One month before the program starts. Recruitment terminates when places are full. Applicant with relevant Chinese foundation could join a class in the middle of the course

Entry Requirement

Applicant should be over 18, with good health and valid foreign passport.

Fees

Tuition fees: RMB3000Yuan/Winter program; RMB5000Yuan/Spring program; RMB4200Yuan/Summer program ;

No application fees;

Registration fees: RMB500/person.

Tuition fees and registration fees should be paid following enrolment.

Textbook fees will correspond to wholesale price (at which we acquired them).

Accommodation

Wutai or Jiangning International Students’ Apartment, Nanjing Medical University; or private off-campus accommodation (University’s Students’ Apartment should be booked in advance.)

Application Documents

1. The application form must be completed in Chinese or English (The application Form of Overseas Students of Nanjing Medical University can be downloaded at http://sie.njmu.edu.cn/defaultdl.asp?id=34&Mid=49&stype=2). The signed application form, together with all supporting documents should be posted before the application deadline to School of International Education, Nanjing Medical University.

The application documents will not be returned to applicants.

Recruitment Procedure:

1. Nanjing Medical University will normally post “Letter of Admission of Overseas Students” and “Visa Application Form of Overseas Students (JW202)” to successful applicants one month after receiving their application documents. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified via fax or email before the end of June.

2. Successful applicants could submit their visa application to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate with their Letter of Admission and JW202 Form.

3. Students should register according to time stated in Letter of admission at the School of International Education, Nanjing Medical University. The original “Letter of Admission of Overseas Students”, “Foreigners’ Health Certificate” (valid for only 6 months, so applicants are recommended to take physical examination in April) and JW202 Form are expected at registration.
