At 3:00 pm of April, 20, 2013, the Group Dance Competition, a part of the 23rd Technology & Culture Art Festival of Nanjing Medical University, was held in the stadium at Jiangning Campus. This competition was organized by the Chinese Communist Youth League Nanjing Medical University Committee, including 12 college teams to participate. Our SIE team played well in this grand dance performance and finally got the Excellent Award, which was the highest honor.
One minute performance on stage, longer time hard-work off stage. In order to give all the audience an excellent visual feast, our international students spent nearly one month to design and practice a comprehensive group dance which include the Mauritian modern dance, the classical Indian dance and an original ecological African dance, with a bright name of “ ROCK STAR DOCTORS”. During the dance practice, our international students successfully overcome lots of difficulties, such as coordination between the preparation for mid-term exam and dance practice, illness for weather change, etc. From the dance design at the very beginning, the music selection to the costume match and the performance on stage in the end, their sweat of hard work and wisdom of youth can always be sensed in the whole preparation process.
