On the afternoon of November 20th, 2014, School of International Education (SIE) held the 3rd English Teaching Observation for international students in Room 102, Xianzhi Building, Wutai Campus. Vice President Wang Lin, leaders from Department of Teaching Affairs and relevant schools, English teaching supervisors, teachers from each school’s Teaching Affairs Office, more than 80 English professional teachers as well as the Batch 2013 international students attended the observation. And the English Teaching Observation was hosted by Mr. Huang Xiaojia and Ms. Ding Jingjing from SIE.
At the teaching event, Mr. Zhang Donghui, teacher from School of Basic Medical Sciences; Mr. Niu Changming, teacher from the Second School of Clinical Medicine; Mr. Song Xiaomeng, teacher from School of Stomatology and Ms. Sun Jing from the First School of Clinical Medicine made 20min English teaching demonstration respectively and their teaching performances fully have shown the teaching level of our university. After that, Four English supervisors Prof. Wu Guanling, Prof. Feng Yuzhu, Prof. Wu Yu’nong and Prof. Liu Feng judged the four teachers’ presentations in English separately, and their excellent evaluations also have made the audience deeply understand the teaching demonstration better.
During his speech, Vice President Wang Lin pointed out the importance of international education and affirmed the achievements that NMU has made on international education. Vice Dean Li Min of SIE made a brief introduction to the series teaching activities hosted by SIE, which including “English Teaching Observation”, “English Teaching Contest”, “Clinical Teaching Symposium” and so on. The school holds big teaching activity each year, aiming to build up the communication platform and pursue the continuing improvement of English teaching quality. Prof. Yu Rongbin, the Vice Director of Department of Teaching Affairs, emphasized the true meaning of university education in his speech. In the end, Dean of SIE, Prof. Xu Shan extended her sincere gratitude to all the English professional teachers and department & school leaders who have offered great support and help to the international education for years. She also encouraged those overseas students to treasure the time and work harder to become a qualified doctor in the future.
