On December 26th, 2016, Nanjing Medical University held the International Student Scholarship Award Ceremony of 2016. NMU Vice President Prof. Wang Lin, leaders of the School of International Education, School of Public Health, the First School of Clinical Medicine, and international student representatives attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, the leaders of SIE read the award decisions for five categories of scholarships, and issued the certificates to winner representatives. Mr. Sadeep Hiran Weerawarna Patabendige, a Sri Lankan undergraduate, made a speech representing all award recipients.
Vice President Wang Lin expressed congratulations to all awarded students and gratitude to all the teachers. He spoke highly of the international students' performance in the last academic year and highlighted the importance of humanistic education and Chinese learning.
In 2016, 459 persons have received scholarships in total with coverage of 75.8%. Among the awarded students, 37 students received Chinese Government Scholarships, while 40 won Jiangsu Jasmine Government Scholarships and 66 received Nanjing Municipal Government Scholarships.
