NMU Holds the Third Multicultural Exhibition

On May 27th, 2017, the 3rd Multicultural Exhibition which is jointly organized by the School of International Education and the Communist Youth League Committee was held in Shuren square, Jiangning Campus. Nearly 150 students from more than 10 countries including China, India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Thailand, Indonesia, Ghana, Nigeria, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia and Egypt participated in the Exhibition. They showed the local customs and national culturesof their own countries to the teachers and students with Gather in NMU, Discover the World as the theme of the whole exhibition.

Well-prepared theme stands, passionate exotic dances, delicious featured foods, new and interesting experiencing programs attracted many teachers and students to stop and enjoy.

Sri Lanka Standtook peacock as its theme, the towering tent was decorated with mysterious beautiful octagonal lanterns. Indonesia Stand created new styles, theyconcentrated local tourist spots to many delicate and lovely display boxes, won the sound of praise. Taking sea as the theme, Mauritius team decorated their booth with romantic handmade flowers, shell windbells and beautiful tablecloth with fishes and seaweed pattern, making the passing crowd could not help taking a photo there.

In addition to the delicately decorated stands, experience programs such as face painting, photo frame photography andtraditional braiding also attracted many students, andinternational students alsoactively participated in experiencingtea art and calligraphy show of Chinese Student Club.The venue was filled with cheerful and friendly atmosphere. And the rhythmic, livelyAfrican and Indian dancewon waves of applause, pushing the scene atmosphere to climax.

The success of the multicultural exhibitionshows the colorfulcultural presence of our international students and Chinese students and will promote the friendship between them. It exerts a positive significance to enhance the international culture atmosphere of NMU.
