From Nov.19th-21st, 2017, the 2nd stop of NMU 2017 Perceiving Jiangsu - Students' Culture Exchange and Practice has been successfully completed in Kunshan, Suzhou. The student participants for this time include 18 foreign students who won CSC Scholarship, Jiangsu Jasmine Scholarship and Nanjing Government Scholarship, 11 students from Taiwan who won Ministry of Education Scholarship for Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Students and 9 volunteers from Kangda School.
On Nov.20th, the opening ceremony for the 2nd stop was held in Jen Ching Memorial Hospital (JCMH) in Kunshan. Mr. Zheng Yu, the Vice Dean of SIE, and Mr. Hu Chunqi, the Deputy General Manager of JCMH have attended the ceremony. After the opening, the NMU students visited 10 departments in JCMH, such as Respiratory Medicine Dept, Neurology Dept (CSC), Orthopedics Dept, Obstetrics Dept, Stomatology Dept, Pediatric Dept, realizing how JCMH fulfills the patient-centered idea and practices the responsibility of providing high-quality and human-based medical service.
In addition, the students visited the manufacturing line of automobile spare parts in the Taiwan-funded enterprise as well, having a knowledge of the vigorous vitality of manufacturing industry in Kunshan. Moreover, the students went sightseeing in the Humble Administrator's Garden and Hanshan Temple, experiencing the wisdom of craftsmen in designing and building classical Chinese gardens.
The tour in Suzhou and Kunshan is the 2nd stop in NMU 2017 Perceiving Jiangsu serial activity, which aims to provide the opportunity for foreign students to know China and Jiangsu and to create the chance for students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to know Jiangsu, and to enhance all students' cognition on Chinese culture.
