On Wednesday, 26th December, 2018, Nanjing Medical University recognized its scholarship winners in the 2018 Scholarship ceremony held at the gymnasium of Jiangning campus.
“Building dreams and developing talents” award ceremony was graced by many dignitaries, professors and was attended by more than 1500 students including over 200 scholarship winners from SIE.
The ceremony started at 6pm and was hosted by prof. Xu Shan, Vice President from NMU, and it was followed by the awarding of scholarships.
Outstanding Chinese and International students were awarded with many scholarships for their hard work and diligence during the last academic year. Student representative from each batch of every school were awarded by distinguished guests who were present at the ceremony.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the President of NMU Professor Shen Hongbing addressed the audience.
The award ceremonywas quickly followed up by the New Year’s concert to celebrate” 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening- up”. The event was made grandiose by the beautiful melodies of NMU orchestra. Ernest Noah (ID: No.18500307) and Ronald Zhang (ID: No.18500301) from SIE also performed in the orchestra.
The 2018 Scholarship ceremony ended successfully, inspiring all students to work better in the following academic year. In 2018, a total of 625 international students won different scholarships, with the scholarship coverage of 85.1%. The detailed scholarship distribution is as follows: 71 won the Chinese Government Scholarship, 43 won the Jiangsu Jasmine Government Scholarship, 66 won the Nanjing Government Scholarship and 445 won the Nanjing Medical University Scholarship.
