In order to enrich the life of students in the school during the epidemic and ensure that students spend the April 3rd Tomb Sweeping Holiday both safely and healthily, SIE responded to the University's call for strengthening the body and fightingthe epidemic scientifically. Students were actively mobilized to participate in the Together toward the Future, Campus Fitness Walk activity co-sponsored by the Ministry of Student Work and the Ministry of Physical Education. Many international students in Jiangning completed the campus fitness walk goal of walking twice a day for three days.

On April4th,SIE held a cloud forum themed on “Awe of Life, Letting Love Last, a 2022 cloud Forum on life education for international students. SIE specially invited Jiang Haiting, a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Medical Humanities of Peking University and outstanding doctoral graduate of our university in 2021, to give a lecture. Professor Jiangsystematically explained body donation, emphasized the great significance of body donation to medical education, and encouraged international students to pay attention to the cause of body donation, so as to contribute to medical education and researcharound the world. During the interactive session, international student representatives actively asked questions about how international students can participate in promoting organ donation and how foreigners can register for body donations in China; Professor Jiang patiently answered and carefully guided students one by one.

On April5th,SIE and the Asset Management Company of NMU jointly held “Wrapping Qingtuan, recognizing Folklore”, Chinese cultural experience activities for international students. Under the leadership of the SIE leaders, the head of the asset management company and the international student counselors, international students walked into the 3rd restaurant of the Jiangning Campus and personally participated in the production of the traditional Chinese snack - Qingtuan. Under the guidance of the teacher, international students mixed wormwood powder, glutinous rice flour, and starch according to the steps provided; mixed, wrapped, kneaded, rounded, and steeped. Although the students tried for the first time, they all learned a lot. The sweet and delicious QingTuan was unanimously loved by the students, who said that if they had the opportunity, they would try to make more Chinese food.

During this Tomb Sweeping holiday, international students exercised their bodies through the campus fitness trip, relaxed their bodies and minds, and alleviated the psychological pressure during the closed management of the campus. Through the life education theme lectures, they raised their understanding of the work of body donationand increased their appreciation of the value of individual lives. Through the activities of Packing QingTuan and Recognizing Folk Customs, students both learn about Chinese traditional culture and college students’ labor education. Furthermore, this activity exercises their hands-on ability, and also allows them to have practical experience to learn more about China’s exceptional traditional culture, so as to better acclimate students to the Chinese environment, understand China, and fall in love with China.
