The Scholarship Policy for International Undergraduate Students Attending Chinese-lectured Courses at NMU has been designed to encourage our international undergraduate students attending Chinese-lectured courses to study hard, forge ahead, and grow into excellent medical talents with innovative spirit. We have referred to the Notice on Updating the Scholarship Awarding Rules for International Students at NMU(No. 2015-20, Office of the President, NMU), and considered the actual situation of international students in this initiative.

Scholarship Policy for International Undergraduate Students Attending Chinese-lectured Courses at NMU

 

 

This policy is designed to encourage our foreign students to study hard, forge ahead, and develop comprehensive qualities in an all-round way.

 

1. Eligibility

Registered full-time international undergraduate students who have attended Chinese-lectured courses at NMU for one year or more are eligible. This policy is not applicable to undergraduates who have received a Chinese government scholarship.

 

2. Selection Criteria

a.        Study hard, and achieve good grades.

b.       Follow Chinese laws and regulations, as well as the University/School rules.

c.        Respect different countries’ customs and traditions, and build solidarity and friendship among people from different countries.

d.       Respect faculty, collaborate with students, and maintain good behavior.

e.        Participate in various University/School-organized activities, and demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork.

f.        Score at least 180 in the new HSK (level 4) exam if the student has completed the third academic year.

 

Students who have any of the following conditions in the academic year are not qualified for a scholarship of any kind:

a.  Those who extended their study period, and those who will graduate this year.

b.  Those who received a warning or a more serious punishment for violating the University’s disciplines or the School’s rules.

c.  Those who failed one or more final exams in the academic year’s subjects.

 

3. Scholarship Types and Qualifications

Students with grades of 90 or above in the academic year can be candidates for a Full Tuition Scholarship.

Students with grades of 80 or above in the academic year can be candidates for a Half Tuition Scholarship.

Students with grades of 70 or above in the academic year can be candidates for a Quarter Tuition Scholarship.

 

Each student may only receive one of the above scholarship types, not all of them.

 

4. Selection Procedure

(1) The selection will be held in September each year.

(2) Based on the score statistics of the academic year, the Student Work Office of the School of International Education will submit the candidate list.

(3) The International Student Scholarship Evaluation Committee of the School of International Education will review the materials, shortlist candidates, and then inform the public.

(4) The scholarship recipients will be announced by the School, and commended at an award ceremony.

(5) If a reciepient is found to have falsified information or engaged in other misconduct during the procedure, NMU will revoke his/her honor, recover the awarded scholarship, and take appropriate disciplinary actions.

 

5. This policy will be in effect as of the date of the announcement. If there is any inconsistency between this policy and the previous one, this one will prevail.

 

6. The Student Affairs Officeof SIE reserves all rights to interpret this policy.
