To effectively conduct safety education for international students and further enhance their awareness of safety, the School of International Education held the 2024 Spring Semester International Student Safety Education Conference on April 11th in the D001 Lecture Hall of Xuehai Building. The conference specially invited the senior Officer Zhu Jun and Officer Chen Xi from the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Nanjing Public Security Bureau, who delivered lectures on the conference. The event was attended by Gu Jun, the Vice Director of the University Security Department, Ding Haiyan, the Vice Dean of the School of International Education, all international student counselors as well as over 240 international students. Shen Henglu, Director of the Student Affairs Office of the School of International Education,hosted the conference.
First of all, Vice Dean Ding Haiyan expressed gratitude towards the long-term care and support provided by the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Nanjing Public Security Bureau to the international students management work at our University. She emphasized the importance of abiding by laws and regulations for the safety and security of all international students who are living and studying in China.
During the conference, Senior Officer Zhu Jun delivered a lecture on China Laws and Safety Education. He discussed several key issues on the management of international students, covering topics such as Accommodation Registration, Study Visa and Residence Permit, Passport Renewal, Illegal Employment, Illegal Residency, Illegal Drug Involvement, and Telecom Fraud, expounding legal concepts closely related to international students in details. By analyzing some recent cases, he deeply explained the illegal activities involving The Three Illegals. He also specifically warned students to be vigilant against various forms of telecom fraud and encouraged everyone to enhance their awareness of safety and legality in daily life, always remembering the principle of safety first.
The safety education conference has further deepened international students' understanding and knowledge of Chinese laws and regulations, strengthened their compliance with laws and personal safety awareness, and laid a solid foundation for building a safe and stable campus environment.
