VI. EVALUATION
Application materials review and online interview
Note:
1. Online interviews will be held regularly before the end of admission.
2. In addition to submitted application documents, acceptance is also based on interview results and an applicant’s comprehensive quality.
3. NMU will notify applicants of the interview time by email. If an applicant cannot participate in a scheduled interview, he/she must email the Office of Admissions and Recruitment (admission@njmu.edu.cn) to explain the situation and NMU will designate an alternative date. Applicants who decline both interview dates will not be eligible for admission.
VII. CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must have a high school diploma or an equivalent or higher qualification;
Applicants must be under the age of 25. Those under 18 must obtain approval from the university and provide relevant documents such as a notarized guardian certificate;
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid ordinary foreign passport, with no criminal record abroad;
If one or both parents are Chinese citizens who have settled abroad, and the applicant acquired foreign nationality at birth and does not hold Chinese nationality, the applicant must have held a valid foreign passport or proof of nationality for at least four (4) years (inclusive). In addition, within the most recent four years (by April 30 of the year of enrollment), the applicant must have resided abroad for at least two (2) years. (A stay of at least nine months in a calendar year is counted as one year, subject to entry and exit stamps.)
Applicants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who have emigrated and acquired foreign nationality, and who apply as international students for undergraduate programs at our university, must also meet the above requirements.(For details, please refer to the Ministry of Education’s “Notice on Regulating the Acceptance of International Students by Higher Education Institutions”)
Applicants must have graduated from high school (those who provide pre-graduation certificate or student status certificate at application MUST provide the final graduation certificate no later than registration)
Transcript requirements (meet one of these requirements)
High school transcript: GPA ≥ 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) or its equivalent (the subjects studied in high school must include physics/ mathematics, biology, and chemistry)
GCE A-level: all subjects should be C or above
GED total score: ≥ 600, all subjects: ≥ 150
Indian State Board Examination: the mark secured of all the subjects/the maximum mark of all the subjects ≥ 85%, CBSE ≥ 70%, NEET score ≥ 300 (NEET taken from 2024 to 2026)
English level
Native or official language is English
Non-native English speakers: IELTS ≥ 6 (minimum 5 in each), TOEFL ≥ 85 (minimum 15 per section), or Duolingo ≥ 115
Proof of English instruction from attended high school

China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA)
All applicants to undergraduate programs must take the “China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA)” administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) under the Ministry of Education of China, with Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Please visit the official CSCA websites (www.csca.cn) for detailed information on test arrangements and registration.
VIII. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1. Applicants submit all materials through online application system:
2. Office of Admissions and Recruitment reviews submitted documents.
3. Office of Admissions and Recruitment notifies applicants who pass the preliminary review of the interview time by email.
4. Applicants take an online interview, those who pass the assessment will receive a PRE-ADMISSION LETTER from Nanjing Medical University.
5. Applicants must pay a non-refundable deposit payment of CNY13, 000 within the period specified in the PRE-ADMISSION LETTER, based on the amount actually received by NMU. Failure to pay the deposit within designated period may result in cancellation of admission.
6. Office of Admissions and Recruitment sends OFFICIAL ADMISSION LETTER and the Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 form) after receiving the deposit.
7. Incoming students apply for an X Visa at an embassy or consulate of P.R. China, along with the OFFICIAL ADMISSION LETTER and the JW202 form.
Notes:
1. Please be sure to indicate the application number and name when remitting your payment.
2. If the student gives up the admission to our university due to personal reasons, the deposit will not be refunded.
3. For students who have been admitted, if they fail to meet the university’s registration requirements at the time of registration and are disqualified from admission, the deposit will not be refunded.
4. Applicants in their final year of study will also be considered for admission. It is the applicant’s responsibility to present all required original documents (graduation diploma, degree certificate, transcript, language proficiency certificate and other supporting materials, etc.) at registration. Failure to obtain and present all required original documents will result in cancellation of admission.

Applicants who fall under Item 3 of the “Application Requirements” must submit a copy of the information page of a valid ordinary passport, along with entry and exit stamps, as well as documents issued by the passport-issuing country, such as a birth certificate and naturalization certificate, and valid identification documents of their parents. Applicants of Chinese descent with foreign nationality (including former Chinese citizens who have acquired foreign nationality and their foreign-national descendants, as well as foreign-national descendants of Chinese citizens) must provide relevant documents for nationality verification.

Utilities will be charged according to actual usage on a monthly basis.
XI. REGISTRATION
Applicants are requested to register at the School of International Education of Nanjing Medical University strictly according to the date notified in the Registration Guide. Those who fail to register on time will be automatically disqualified from admission.

The Registration Guide will be sent to all students via email in July.
