How do I apply?
All applications should be submitted online in our application portal. The website is http://admission.njmu.edu.cn/. Applicants should sign up for a user name and submit all required documents. There is no need to send physical copies.
Is there an application fee?
There is NO application fee.
Do I have to ask an agency to file my application?
No. You may apply directly. You will only be evaluated based on your academic performance.
What undergraduate programs are available in 2026?
For 2026, our university offers two undergraduate medical programs tailored to different needs:
MBBS Program (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery), duration: 6 years
Clinical Medicine Program (Chinese-taught), duration: 5 years
When will my study begin?
The new semester will start in September 2026. We currently have only fall (September) intake. There is NO spring intake.
Does a new student receive scholarship?
Yes, as a top-tier double-first-class university with strong medical disciplines, for self-funded MBBS applicants, we offer a generous Freshman Scholarship policy—100% of admitted students will receive this scholarship—admitted students are automatically considered, with amounts ranging from 5,000 to 34,000 RMB per academic year.
Can I apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) for the MBBS program?
No, the MBBS program is not covered by the Chinese Government Scholarship, neither Type A nor Type B.
If I receive a scholarship, do I have to pay an admission deposit?
Yes, you do need to pay the deposit in time even if you receive a full-tuition scholarship. Paying fees and receiving scholarship are two separate processes. The scholarship will be credited to your China Bank account after you complete the on-campus registration procedures.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
The Jiangsu Government Scholarship will be reviewed internally by the government. Our university has not yet obtained the relevant application guidelines.
For scholarships from Nanjing Medical University, there is no separate application. All admitted students will be automatically considered for scholarships.
Is the admission deposit refundable?
It is NOT refundable.
Can I arrive before the registration date?
You may arrive as early as two days before your registration day. If you arrive prior to that time, the dormitory will not be available and you have to find your own accommodation.
It is my first time in China, will someone pick me up at the airport?
Our university does not provide airport pickup service for the time being. All students are required to make their own way to the Jiangning Campus of Nanjing Medical University.
Do I need to bring bedding besides my carry-on luggage?
No, we will prepare the bed linen for you.
Where will an undergraduate student study?
For MBBS students, you spend the first 4 years studying in Jiangning campus, and the 5th year in Wutai campus. Your 6th year will be spent on internship in a hospital.
Can a student live off-campus?
Yes. For undergraduate students, you may apply to live off-campus from your second year, subject to approval by our Student Affairs Office.
Is there a canteen that offers halal food?
Yes, there is such canteen on both Jiangning and Wutai campuses.
